I'm Benjamin de Kruijf — an evolutionary astrologer working within the tradition established by Jeffrey Wolf Green, and a writer working at the intersection of astrology, philosophy, and theology.
I didn't come to this work through astrology first. I spent my earlier career in technology, building several of my own ventures — work that trained me to think in systems, structures, and cause-and-effect, long before I had any language for the soul. Eventually I stepped away from it entirely and spent eight years traveling — not as a tourist passing through places, but as someone trying to actually live inside different ways of understanding what a life is for. Across that time, in a lot of very different places and a lot of very different circumstances, the same thing kept surfacing: an inherent connectedness underneath the particulars — a metaphysics running quietly beneath ordinary experience, whether or not anyone around me had a name for it.
Evolutionary astrology gave me a working language for that. Not a belief system to adopt, but a technical framework precise enough to actually use — one that treats the birth chart not as a fixed personality profile, but as a record of where a soul currently stands in a much longer process: what it has already mastered, what it's still carrying, and what it's now being asked to grow into. That combination — real rigor, applied to something genuinely soul-level — is what pulled me in and what has kept me doing this work seriously ever since.
My approach draws on Green's foundational Pluto-centered method, alongside the psychological depth of Jung, the humanistic astrology of Dane Rudhyar and Stephen Arroyo, and an ongoing engagement with Gnostic Christianity, Continental philosophy, and cosmology — traditions that, in my experience, are all circling the same underlying questions from different angles. I don't think a chart reading and a philosophical or theological question are actually separate conversations; they're usually the same conversation, approached from a different entry point.
